It is not possible to be half enlightened
Or on the way to enlightenment
You don't half love another
You love them completely or not at all
You can't be half dead
You are alive or you are not

By viewing the acts of a person
You should not define them
They may do good things
They may do things you consider to be bad
But the acts themselves reveal nothing
Instead it is in who they are, we know them

You are either enlightened or not
There are no half measures
When you act as an enlightened being
However your acts are perceived
They are completed through love
And are an expression of the divine

The unenlightened are driven by ego
And even their goodness is based in hypocrisy
They are self seeking, their kindness is trickery
They may even fool themselves
Instead look at a person's being
Enlightened or unenlightened, this reveals all

To the enlightened, love is not an act
It is an expression of being
Look inside yourself, be one who loves
Just for the sake of love, not for reward
To give and not to count the cost
To fight and not to heed the wound

To toil, and not to seek for rest
To labor and not to ask for reward
As Ignatius said to do the divine will
Is the hallmark of the enlightened
All they did before enlightenment
Is no longer them and is if no consequence

This is a call to return to enlightenment
To drop the undependable ego
To live from your heart, to be born again
To let the dross pass away
See yourself and be who you are
A being of light, it's time to let the ego die
