“Nothing is so contagious as enthusiasm. It moves stones, it charms brutes. Enthusiasm is the genius of sincerity, and truth accomplishes no victories without it.” – Edward Bulwer-Lytton
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary the origin of the word ENTHUSIASM is the Greek word enthousiasmos, which itself is taken from enthousiazein which means to be inspired. In its irregular form it is written entheos, or in English - inspired, from en- means from and theos - god. So, enthusiasm literally means “from god” or in spirit / inspired! Its first recorded use in English was in 1603.
It is therefore no wonder at all, that that which is from the source of all things, is contagious! I have spent more than ten years on Facebook sharing words of inspiration, challenge, and encouragement. When the idea for a group called “Be Inspired!” first entered my mind, more than 8 years ago now, I knew it would grow quickly, because everyone loves to “Be Inspired!”
When you are inspired and enthusiastic, then you are in tune with the heartbeat and harmony of the universe! Like love and light, enthusiasm exists on a higher frequency and once it takes hold of you, the impossible can be done almost immediately, even though miracles may take a little longer! Now you can see why I seek to inspire others. It is the one way I know to make the world a better place!
Have you got some stones to move? Have you got a brute to charm? Do you need to express something with sincerity? Do you want your truth to win the day, and be a blessing to others? Well, in that case you need to get inspired and work out, those enthusiasm muscles of yours, instead of sitting there with a long face and a heavy heart. Put a smile on your face, god is with you!
